Dickinson Wright real estate attorney John G. Cameron, Jr. will present a seminar entitled "Real Estate 2008: Updates and Practice Advice" on Friday, October 3 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As part of the Institute of Continued Legal Education's (ICLE) seminar series and co-sponsored by The Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, Mr. Cameron's seminar also will be offered on November 6 in Plymouth, Michigan, after which the seminar will be available as a Webcast on ICLE's Web site. Included in this seminar is a presentation given by Dickinson Wright attorney Leslee M. Lewis about green building. Mr. Cameron will offer analysis and practical advice on recent real property developments and issues, including court cases and litigation. He also will explore how to effectively respond to a construction project going into default by examining a hypothetical commercial construction project in Michigan's current economy; investigating issues that may arise if a project goes into default; and considering the pertinent legal issues and their resolution under Michigan law. Additionally, Dickinson Wright attorney Leslee M. Lewis will present a seminar entitled "Green Building Basics," which will address who is going green and why; mandates and incentives in Michigan and nationwide; updates to green building standards; program basics such as LEED, Green Globes and Model Green Homebuilding; understanding the LEED process; and what to know about the dilemmas of green building.
