Attorney W. Anthony Jenkins Appointed New Chief Diversity Officer

Dickinson Wright announces the appointment of W. Anthony (Tony) Jenkins to Chief Diversity Officer. Mr. Jenkins, a member in the firm's Detroit office, is the first person to serve as its Chief Diversity Officer and will remain Co-Chair of the firm's Diversity Committee. In these roles, Mr. Jenkins will be responsible for oversight and strategic planning of the firm's diversity initiatives.

"When Tony becomes President of the State Bar of Michigan later this year, I expect his activities as Chief Diversity Officer and Co-Chair of the firm's Diversity Committee will coincide with important components of his public platform."

Mr. Jenkins practices real estate, corporate/business and public finance law. He counsels companies ranging from privately-held start-up ventures to public, multi-national corporations on real estate matters, including development, acquisitions, financing, leasing, disposition and title matters. His corporate practice includes corporate formations and capitalizations, contracts, joint venture agreements, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Jenkins is a nationally-recognized expert in the formation and certification of minority business enterprises under the policies and procedures of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). He also is a former Chairperson of the Certification Committee, and a former Director of the Board, of the Michigan Chapter of the NMSDC. His public finance practice focuses on representing municipalities issuing tax-exempt bonds for public projects, and investment banks that purchase/syndicate such bonds.
