Dickinson Wright Member James B. Perry was selected to be an Adjunct Professor at Wayne State University this Fall, teaching a Negotiations class for third-year law students and LL.M. degree candidates. Perry's course is designed to provide a comprehensive examination of various legal principles that affect negotiation, such as rights assessment, custom and practice, rules of contract construction, proper and improper conditions, and other aspects of negotiation as well as negotiating styles and strategies. The course will include interactive lectures focused on negotiation tactics, featuring simulated negotiations between the students and guest speakers on various facets of negotiation. Perry is a member in the Detroit office of Dickinson Wright PLLC. He has more than 29 years of experience, practicing in the areas of labor and employment law, labor contract negotiation and administration, and employment litigation defense. Perry has successfully negotiated labor contracts with all major unions for a wide variety of employers and is a frequent lecturer and author on employment law issues. A member of the State Bar of Michigan, he holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and a J.D. degree from the Emory University School of Law.
