Dickinson Wright real estate attorney Leslee M. Lewis recently presented a telephone seminar/audio Webcast entitled "Green Building Essentials for Lawyers: The Big Picture from a Real Estate Attorney and a Green Building Consultant." This one-hour seminar, presented by the American Law Institute and the American Bar Association (ALI-ABA), is available at www.ali-aba.org. Ms. Lewis and her co-presenter, Sam Pobst of Eco Metrics LLC, provided an overview of the Green Building Process, focusing on the legal issues that attorneys must remain cognizant of when advising clients on green real estate projects. The program emphasized the basics of green building and its background, current programs and laws throughout the country, and legal perspectives of sustainable design. Topics included:
