James A. Plemmons, an attorney in Dickinson Wright's Detroit office and the Practice Department Manager for the firm's Automotive, Product Liability Litigation, Trouble Suppliers, Telecommunications and Family Law practice areas, has been named one of the State's Leaders in Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
For the third consecutive year, Michigan Lawyers Weekly is presenting the Leaders in Law Awards, recognizing the outstanding work being done by members of the legal community throughout Michigan. Mr. Plemmons, along with the other honorees, will be recognized at the 2010 Leaders in Law award ceremony on March 16, 2010.
Mr. Plemmons is counsel to Chrysler Group LLC and Johnson Controls, Inc. in troubled supplier and bankruptcy matters, and counsel to JP Chase Morgan Bank in bankruptcy and debtor/creditor affairs. He has represented numerous insurance companies in regard to workout, foreclosure and bankruptcy matters, and has served as counsel to numerous secured lenders, unsecured lenders, bankruptcy trustees, debtors, shareholders, and investor groups in all nature of bankruptcy, restructuring, and workout proceedings. He received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his J.D. from American University's Washington College of Law.
