Attorney Michael D. Socha Recognized by Wayne State University with 2011 Recent Alumni Award
The Wayne State University Alumni Association recognizes Michael D. Socha for his personal and professional achievements since earning a bachelor’s degree in 1999 and a law degree in 2002.
Since joining one of Detroit oldest and most prestigious law firms, Dickinson Wright, in 2002, Socha has established a successful commercial litigation practice focused on automotive, construction, professional liability, banking and copyright law. Named a partner of the firm in 2009, Socha serves a broad client base including automotive suppliers, a Detroit casino, and major accounting, construction and financial services firms.
Socha has successfully represented clients in a variety of cases. Some of his achievements include obtaining multiple dismissals in favor of music labels and prominent recording artists in copyright infringement suits, and securing relief against automotive suppliers poised to breach contracts with his clients. Socha also writes for the newsletter of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan, on topics important to the bar. He was selected for inclusion in Michigan Super Lawyers–Rising Stars Edition 2009.
