Attorney H. Jonathan Redway to Speak at 2008 Advanced Patent Law Institute

Dickinson Wright patent litgation attorney H. Jonathan Redway will address a session on recent developments concerning patent damages at the 2008 Advanced Patent Law Institute. The two-day Institute will be held at the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, VA from January 10-11, 2008. Mr. Redway's session, entitled Damages, will open with a discussion of recent issues involving damages, including apportionment, entire market value and calculation of damages involving provisional patents. The session will conclude with a discussion by two valuation experts on the theories and data available to plaintiff and defense counsel in pursuing or defending such claims. The 2008 Advanced Patent Law Institute is sponsored by George Mason University School of Law and The University of Texas School of Law, in conjunction with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Redway's practice focuses on intellectual property, commercial and business litigation, complex civil litigation and trial practice, and information technology and security law. He is Co-Chair of Dickinson Wright's Intellectual Property Litigation Task Force and has substantial experience in matters involving patents, copyrights, theft of trade secrets, trade dress, trademarks, dilution, unfair competition, breach of contract, fraud, price-fixing, environmental regulations and product liability. Mr. Redway received his BA degree in Economics from Roanoke College and his JD (with honors) from The National Law Center at George Washington University. Mr. Redway is a member of the American Bar Association and a Co-Chair of its Trademark Fair Use Committee. He also is a member of the American Intellectual Property Association, the International Trademark Association (currently serves as an Editor for the Trademark Reporter), the Intellectual Property Owners Association, the International Trade Commission Trial Lawyers Association, the Bar Association of the District of Columbia and the Virginia State Bar.
