Ann Arbor Attorneys Gain New Management Responsibilities with Dickinson Wright PLLC

Three Ann Arbor-based attorneys with Dickinson Wright PLLC have been appointed to new management roles within the Firm. These appointments were effective last month. The Firm announced the appointments of Michael T. Raymond as leader of the Corporate Department, and Michael C. Hammer as a Deputy CEO. Additionally, John K. Lawrence, an Ann Arbor attorney based in the Firm's Detroit office, was named Client Service Director. In his new role as leader of the Firm's Corporate Department, Raymond will oversee all general corporate activities, including mergers and acquisitions, securities and information technology. He has served as counsel to: issuers in connection with their initial and secondary public offerings, and with domestic and offshore private equity and debt placements; various publicly-traded and closely-held parties in connection with their mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, divestitures, spinoffs and recapitalizations; multiple borrowers in connection with their senior debt, mezzanine debt, venture capital, and MESBIC financings; and several management groups in connection with their leveraged buyout transactions. Hammer joins the Firm's five-person Management Group , which works with the CEO to manage the operations of the Firm in all of it's offices. In his role, he will oversee all recruitment and acquisitions, new attorney transitions and the Firm's associates. Hammer focuses his practice on corporate bankruptcy, workouts, and creditor rights and commercial litigation. As Client Service Director, Lawrence's primary responsibilities will include overseeing the Firm's Client Service Teams, in which Dickinson Wright attorneys representing a specific client study the client's business and goals to enhance the Firm's service to the client. He also will coordinate multidisciplinary practice matters, and structure regular contacts between clients and Firm management. Lawrence's practice is concentrated in banking and financial services. In addition to advising financial institutions on all aspects of their regulation by Federal and State authorities, he represents banks and borrowers in international and domestic commercial loans and trade finance, derivatives transactions, corporate finance and consumer credit. He has counseled financial institution holding companies in the formation of subsidiary institutions in the U.S. and other countries, and in mergers and acquisitions. He also has served as counsel in the creation and operation of multi-state consumer credit and credit card programs.
