Attorney Amy Borman Joins Dickinson Wright's Columbus Office as Member

Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Attorney Amy Borman is joining the firm’s Columbus office as a Member, effective immediately.

Ms. Borman represents educational institutions, including universities, community colleges, educational service centers, K-12 districts, private schools, community schools, and joint vocational districts in their continuing compliance with state and federal laws. She has provided guidance nationwide and has been a guest speaker at businesses, universities and schools throughout the United States and Europe, assisting Iceland in passing a new funding law.

Ms. Borman advises clients on free speech, search and seizure, church/state, social media, open meetings, public records, ethics and conflicts, residency, discipline, tuition, transportation, athletic participation, admissions, bond financing, receivables financing, grants and loans from private or public educational funds, labor negotiations, disabilities in education, special education compliance and complaints, due process hearings and related litigation, leasing, construction, contracts, bidding, the strategic use of shared and cooperative collaborations, and other public and private laws affecting educational institutions.

Ms. Borman is licensed to practice law in the states of Michigan and Ohio. Her seminars include topics on governance, innovative restructuring, public funds and funding, ethics and conflicts, open meetings, a variety of topics in special education, disciplinary proceedings, and strategic planning.

Ms. Borman received her B.Mus. from Wittenberg University, her M.Mus. from the University of Michigan, and her J.D. from the University of Toledo.
