“What in the World is Happening with Michigan Elementary & Secondary Public Education”

“Why do I Need to Know and Why Should I Care?”

This seminar will track all of the dramatic changes that have been instituted in our public schools, as well as the significant, pending legislation that will affect our public schools; and discuss their implications with respect to business growth, property values, parents, students and public school personnel.  Attendees will gain a knowledge of the current and future structure of public education as envisioned by the legislature, including how public education is financed, the differences and similarities between school districts and charter schools, the structure of virtual schools and virtual school programs, the fate of failing schools, the new expectations and rules regarding the performance of public school personnel, and parental and student rights.
