Legal Aspects of Investment in Three Emerging Markets: China, India and the Middle East

Join Dickinson Wright Attorney Bruce Thelen for an informative panel discussion on doing business with India, China and the Middle East on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Wayne State University Law School.

“Legal Aspects of Investment in Three Emerging Markets: China, India and the Middle East” will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium at the law school. The event, which is sponsored by the law school’s Program for International Legal Studies, is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

American lawyers are increasingly involved in helping U.S. companies invest in China, India and Arab countries in the Middle East and in facilitating ‘inbound’ investment from those countries. The panel will explore the critical legal issues that emerge from structuring these transactions. The panel will include Bing Ho, partner with Baker & McKenzie’s China Corporate Group; Michael J.T. McMillen, partner at Curtis Mallet-Prevost Colt & Mosle LLP; and Gurinder J. Singh, founder and managing partner of Auvera Legal PLLC.

Dickinson Wright Attorney Bruce Thelen will serve as moderator for the panel. He is a member in the firm’s Detroit office and is an expert on international business and finance. He serves on the External Advisory Committee for Wayne Law’s Program for International Legal Studies. He is a governing council member of the International Bar Association and was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve on the Michigan District Expert Council. He also serves on the Detroit Chamber of Commerce and is chairman of the International Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
