HIT Security & Privacy Panel Discussion and Networking

On Thursday, February 17, 2011, Dickinson Wright member Brian R. Balow will be one of the panelists discussing topics related to health care security and privacy.

As more and more health care providers are adopting electronic charts and integrated EHR software, a substantial amount of patient data will be required to travel among organizations using digital channels. If proper security measures are not taken through policies, standards and practices, patient privacy could be jeopardized. The health care community is making progress to become more sophisticated in its adoption and use of information security systems to solve complex data protection requirements. But with the recently passed health care law, there is much more that needs to be addressed.

We will discuss these and other topics related to health care security and privacy during this panel discussion and networking session, hosted by the Technology Committee.
