During this workshop, James Perry and Carolyn Cary will present “My Employee Did What? And I Could Have Known About It Ahead of Time?” This session will help participants uncover real-world employee issues and strategize about what to do about them. Participants will learn the reasons for routinely conducting background checks and receive tips on how to approach the applicant or employee when a check reveals damaging information.

The ASE 2nd Annual Employment Law Workshop: Mid-Michigan will address a wide and varied group of topics in the area of employee relations. Attorney-led panels and specialized breakouts will review a number of everyday laws and regulations that impact the employer-employee relationship. These laws and regulations are often packed with ambiguity and gray areas that trigger doubt in even the most seasoned HR professional’s mind.
