Marketing Manager

Job Summary

Working closely with the Chief Business Development & Marketing Officer (CBDMO), the Marketing Manager (MM) will execute core business development and marketing functions in support of the business development department as described below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support client cross-serving efforts. Assist in the development and implementation of effective strategies to target and enhance relationships with specific co-counsel and referring attorneys. Support and assist with the design and/or implementation of sales and cross-serving initiatives.

Research. The MM will perform research at the request of the Associate Director. The research will include research on prospects, competitors, markets and industries and other business intelligence on an as-needed basis.

Prospect Targeting. The MM will assist with tracking client and prospect activity in CNS (courthouse news) litigation tracking service.

Internal Communications. The MM will run internal communications, specifically will prepare the weekly internal newsletter.

Awards, Rankings, Lists and Directories. The MM will support the public relations manager in preparing nominations and applications for awards, rankings, lists and directories.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A minimum of five to ten years of experience in a professional services environment, preferably with a law firm.

An individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

• Thorough understanding of the professional services sales cycle and, ideally, how the legal services offered by the Firm are customarily purchased.
• Affinity for technology to improve internal business development systems and to support the Firm’s attorneys in their efforts to increase business with existing clients.
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Superb research and analytical skills
• Strong communication capabilities with both internal and external constituents

Graphic Designer

Job Summary

Working closely with the Senior Manager of Marketing and Creative Services (SMMCS), the Graphic Designer will assist in executing many of the visual/design/graphic functions and responsibilities for Dickinson Wright PLLC.

This individual will be expected to design digital and print collateral including brochures, announcements and booklets; digital/email and print event invitations; sponsorship advertisements; PowerPoint presentations; and visual elements for sales documents (RFPs, covers, etc).

The Graphic Designer will also aid the SMMCS in day to day administrative tasks.

This individual will partner with:

• Business development team employees, including the CBDMO and marketing management
• Members, associates and assistants
• Practice department leaders
• Finance
• Information Technology

Two to five years of creative and/or design experience is preferred.

An individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

• Thorough understanding of the design and creative processes
• Any web or video development experience is a plus
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat)
• Proficient in Office Suite (especially PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
• Good communication capabilities with both internal and external constituents
